Castle Windows Names 23-Year Military Veteran Kevin Rouse “Rookie of the Year”

Most people would call Kevin Rouse a hero. This Wilmington, North Carolina native served in Desert Storm, Iraq, Kosovo, Bosnia and Afghanistan. Serving in all the world’s hot spots, Rouse ran a combat communications unit. “When there is war, you go where and when you are asked,” he noted.

Though he had the opportunity to advance in his career, Rouse decided it was time for a change in his life. He had no sales experience before coming to Castle, but was recruited by his neighbor, Mike Jordano, who was working as a Castle sales manager at the time.  “ After talking with Kevin on numerous occasions, I called the office and told them that we have GOT to get this guy," said Jordano.

Castle typically only hires well-experienced representatives, however, Kevin proved to be something special.

Despite 23 years as an air traffic controller, Rouse found a new life and a new career at Castle Windows. He works out of the Newington, CT office, but when demand is high, he often volunteers for days at a time covering appointments out of state in Rhode Island and in Massachusetts.  “His actions show a great commitment to the team and placed him ahead of his other rookie counterparts,” said Castle President Chris Cardillo.

Rouse says Castle Windows is a great company to work for and notes that his training has been superb. Regional Manager Joe Deciuceis says Rouse is a very quick study. “Kevin has motivation, drive and has picked up a lot in a very short time.”  Rouse began his employment just a year ago.

To some, Kevin Rouse remains a hero, but can now add to his impressive resume, Castle Windows, “Rookie of the Year”.
