It’s easier to attract the attention of a small crowd that you’ve identified as being interested in your product than a larger crowd that you can't predetermine if they want your product or not.

WHAT IS NICHE MARKETING?
A niche market is a focused, targetable portion of a market. It can further be defined as a narrowly defined group of potential customers.

It’s more effective.
It's costless.
It produces better results.
It's saves time and energy
It helps you communicates with less effort.
The great advantage of being the only or limited marketers.


STEPS TO FINDING YOUR NICHE
Check yourself and be sure that you do what you're doing passionately, be sure that you are doing one or what you are most interested in and how it will interface with your product. Because if you can't passionately offer service or produce, and you're just doing it for just a living you will soon be frustrated by your intending buyers or the market and that may trigger your anger which will gently snowballed the business into a mess. In other word be prepared to face challenges.

It could be very expensive and usually a hard task to develop a niche from scratch. I think one can leverage on an existing niche that has good potential for using a unique product or service similar to yours, identify and plan on addressing some of the critical issues that baffles the customers.. and work to fill in the gap.

Assess your potential market to determine if there is an area that could use your services. An easy way to make this determination is just talk to the people in your targeted community. Another is to join groups of people who have similar interests such as sport clubs, small leagues, college or university clubs or at byke racing activities. More important and faster too, join forums online, write interesting comments on traffic driven blogs in your niche from time to time so that your name can from there begin to spread like wild fire and ring a bell in the mind of those who has come across it before whenever you step on stage.

Finally, Once you find a promising niche, then determine if you can be comfortable with the anticipated income from it. For instance, if you decide to target college events, consider aligning yourself with local schools or college students. Try to sponsor a series of community academic events. Of course, an ample amount of samples should be available for your product’s promotion. Better still, if you will bring that online, try and write article for that you're willing to do from time to time, so that the more of articles you've written the more prospects that knows you and are willing to listen to you and patronize you. You can predetermine your income from the mailing list of opt-in- mail.

Using logical planning and execution of some niche centered strategies, you’ll succeed in positively affecting the well being of your customers in your chosen niche. At the end, your effort will be fully rewarded financially and emotionally.

Since my area of interest is Affiliate and Internet Marketing, I started out by writting and submitting articles to about 160 article directories, writing comments on traffic driven blogs and niche leaders' website, supporting people in varrious forums making sure that i append my mail and website address for further support. Later, when I started my own campaign BLOG, my mailing list was already enormous with my name prominently featuring on other peoples BLOGS.

To avoid putting all your hopes into one basket, I recommend developing several niches rather than having to depend on one. Aside from the affiliate mentoring and corporate internet marketing business, I also focused on several online businesses like blogging, seo, online advertisements, article marketing, website design and development, graphics and photoshop design, flash animation development and I also mentor smaller business on how to grow their business from scratch so on both online and offline.

I just didn’t lustfully choose those business activities, I observed that people in my community needs those services and no one serve them to my satisfaction and since i have a burning desire to deliver, knowing well that i can do it better, worked towards it i sees myself doing better. Furthermore, i don't do it with strain but with passion and ease, while others spend eternity on it, i spend next to no time. More than convincing solutions, i give dirt cheap after sales services.

The same type of thinking would apply to your own kind of business. You should not only be able to offer a fantastic after sales service, in addition, you should be able to offer your expert advice on customers' preconceived choice of service or product. Your expert advice will differentiate you from others who are just doing their traditional business!
