As many of you may have heard backlinks play a huge part in your search engine rankings. This has lead into a debate on which types of links are better and how to best get your site indexed. Through personal trial and error the method that I have found that works best for me is article directory submissions.

I am not saying that this is the best method available today, but as far as consistency goes I have had no problem with it. Every new site that I have stood up and pointed an article at has been indexed within 48 hours of that article going live. Once again not saying it is the only way but it has worked for me so I am sticking with it and sharing that piece of advice with you all.

Lets move on with the debate though on why article submissions fit right in with the trends in SEO. The value of reciprocal links has diminished over the years. There still is value in them just not nearly as much in the main two search engines, Google and Yahoo. If you submit to article directories you don't need to worry about reciprocal links since they will all be one way links pointing right back to your site.

This last point compounds on the other to prove that article directory submissions are one of the best free marketing strategies for SEO. Most "experts" will tell you that one way in context links pointing to your site from topic relevant sources with high page rank are probably the best links. That is exactly what you get with an article. Most of the top article directories have a Google Page Rank of 2-6. They should be in context since you will be writing the context around the link.
