English regent examinations are the type of examination, which includes four parts, and each part consists of an essay response. In this type of exam students have to describe a particular situation by listening to a paragraph twice and then have to answer a few multiple-choice questions.
English regent task I essay requires effective use of vocabulary and standard written English. It is, usually, offered three months in January, June, and August, six hours long, based on two sessions and every student must have to pass both the session once in order to attain his or her graduate degree.
THE ENGLISH REGENTS EXAM—AN OVERVIEW:
SESSION ONE: PART A: Taking notes while listening: When listening passage is played, it is essential to listen each and everything carefully and write down all the important points you think is helpful in completing your task I essay. Your main focus is to complete your task I essay, keep the topic in mind, this will help you to jot down important points during the passage; read your notes and double space them, in order to add important points you miss before.
SESSION ONE: PART B: Writing the essay: Read all the guidelines you have provided for writing an English Regents task I essay. Recall all the main points, given during the passage. Avoid adding your personal statements regarding the particular subject; add information from the listening passage only. Organise what you have written and write a five-paragraph essay.
SESSION TWO: PART A: Reading and writing for literary response: In this session two paragraphs from any fiction, poetry, memoir, or literary non-fiction is given and students have to answer 10 multiple-choice questions, which must be in effective language, you also have to write an essay by keeping the two passages in mind. It is necessary the essay must follow standard written English and strong vocabulary.
SESSION TWO: PART B: Reading and writing for literary analysis and evaluation: The part B of session two discusses two works of literature you have read from the particular point of view. This part must be supported with appropriate references, which supports your opinion.
