The Chrysler Group LLC is reporting its best October sales in thirteen years. A whopping twenty- two percent sales increase was revealed in the 2014 Chrysler Group LLC October 2014 U.S. Sales Report. This is exciting news for the Group which carries the FIAT, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands. This experience in growth has been recurrent over the past 55 months which spans four and a half consecutive year-over-year increased sales. The Group sales for October 2014 totaled 170,480 that is 30,397 more units sold than October 2013.
For the Jeep brand, October sales have shown an increase of fifty percent when compared to the previous Octobers. The Chrysler 200 reported a high increase as well of forty percent, (making it the premier October sales for that brand. An overall nine vehicles in the Chrysler group had record October sales. The internal projection for U.S. auto industry October sales figures was estimated at just under seventeen million units Seasonally Adjusted Annual Rate (SAAR).
Overall for 2014, leading up to the October sales, the Chrysler group sales have seen two-digit increases for eight months. This makes the Chrysler Group top of the list in growth across the automaker industry. The attributing factors to this growth are the new Jeep Cherokee and Chrysler 200 mid-size sedan. Consumers have also been seeking out the award-winning Ram pickup trucks.
Jeep Brand
This is the number one growing brand in the industry and its sales of 52 percent, the highest ever in October, is proof of this. Its growth has been consecutive for several months totaling just over a year. The Jeep Cherokee, Wrangler and Patriot recorded unparalleled October sales. Jeep's best seller for the two-consecutive months is the new Cherokee. In fact, the Jeep brand copped the top awards in all five areas which it competed at the 2014 staging of the in the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) Texas Truck Rodeo in October.
Ram Truck Brand
This brand saw its Ram Light Duty experiencing sales growth of thirty four, just a one percent higher than the Ram Heavy Duty pickups. Other Ram Truck brands which experienced unrivaled October increases are the Ram Pro Master van and Ram Cargo Van, the first in a decade. It also nabbed two awards at the Texas Truck Rodeo, for the Ram 2500 and the Ram Power Wagon.
Chrysler Brand
The October sales increase for this brand were third in line for the Chrysler group but still significant at seventeen percent, the best in seven years. The Chrysler 200 sedan helped in scoring this victory with a forty percent sales growth. This growth was anticipated due to the sedan's five-star comprehensive safety rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Meanwhile, the Chrysler Town & Country increased by four percent its best over a seven year period and the Chrysler 300 sedan reported a nine percent increase over October 2013.
FIAT Brand
Since its re-introduction in 2011, this brand has experienced its best October growth so far of one percent. The sales growth was sparked by the Fiat 500 eighteen percent growth over October 2012. The FIAT 500L saw a forty-eight increase over September, but were down year over year in October.
Dodge Brand
The Dart recorded the highest increase of twenty-eight for the Dodge brand, twenty-seven for the Dodge Challenger and the Dodge Journey recorded a nine increase in sales for the month of October. The Journey mid-size crossover attributed to its top October sales. Dodge Viper also reported a 16 percent increase in October sales. This is a reflection of the shift in placement of the classic Detroit-created 2015 super car. The Dodge Group is anticipating even greater increases come 2015 as it repositions various brands and improve on others over the next few months.
