The Honda Civic Returns for 2015 with a New High-Value Special Edition Sedan

Honda is bringing into the market a breed of sporty and youthful car models that combine an array of available and standard features. The new set of fun-to-drive powertrains with matching chassis are designed to perform to the optimal levels, while returning some of the highest fuel efficiency ratings in the industry. Among the new set of trims in the unveiling list, is the new Honda Special Edition (SE) that incorporates exciting features as well as a number of stylish upgrades from Civic Sedan LX and the EX. The new 2015 Honda Civic Special Edition (SE) will be joining the growing family of Honda Civics. The 5 passenger capacity Sedan is designed to combine style and luxury with performance. The car is positioned to provide the growing list of Honda customer’s base with something that is of a higher value option. The upgrade includes more than $1,000 worth of telematics, comfort and audio specs. This is in addition to the optional $700 style upgrade over the Honda Sedan LX.

The new 2015 Honda Civic is already on sale, the Civic Coupe LX, with manual transmission will retail at a manufacturer suggested price (MRSP) of $18,290. The retail price for the other sedans will be as follows; SE will start at $19,900, EX at 21,000 and the EX-L at $22,840. In 2014, Honda Civil underwent a series of makeovers that included changes in the Coupes exterior designs, a number of interior refinements as well as a set of new wheel designs. In addition to the makeovers, there is also a host of premium features that have been retained in the 2015 models. Despite the many changes, the 2014 Honda Civic Sedan was already a winner of one of the highest industry safety ratings which was bestowed to it by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Among the new features on the standard 2015 Civic are expanded view drivers mirror, Hands Free Link Bluetooth and a rear-view camera fitted with guidelines. Some of the available features include; next-generation connected-car technology by HondaLink, Smart Entry that comes with start-push button, 7-inch capacitive touch display audio and a LaneWatch display.

The CVT technology has been incorporated on a number of standard Honda models, including the Civic Coupe LX and EX as well as the Honda Civic Sedan LX. This technology is designed to enhance the new Civic 1.8-liter engine’s responsiveness by creating a smooth and reasonably quick acceleration times. In addition, the resulting low internal friction coupled by the wide ratio range is intended to provide increased fuel efficiency. The other standard feature on the Civic Sedan and Civic Coupe EX and LX is the slick shifting 5-Speed manual transmission gear. According to the hondanews.com release, the new 2015 Civic Sedan also comes fully equipped with a Display Audio with next-generation HondaLink, extra tweeter speakers, 15-inch wide alloy wheels painted with black inserts, auto-climate control and the latest Honda LaneWatch. The line-up of the new 2015 Civic Coupes and Sedans will be joined by another cluster that will include the Civic Natural Gas, Civic Hybrid and the Civic Si Sedan.

The EPA fuel economy ratings for the city and highway for the Civic Sedan LX CVT is rated at 30 miles per gallon in the city and 39 miles per gallon on the highway; the Civic Coupe LX CVT returns a similar 30 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on highway drive. On the other hand, the Civic Sedan HF CVT returns the highest EPA Fuel economy which averages 35 miles per gallon on both city and highway drive. The 2015 Honda Civic Coupe and Sedan stand out as some of the best known compact cars in the US, thanks to the impeccable safety record, technological advances and responsiveness by Honda. The hot new Honda Civic Si model will be powered by a 201 horsepower, 2.4-liter engine on a 6-Speed manual gearbox.
