Different Types of Eyelash Treatments

Dreaming of having long and beautiful eyelashes? With so many eyelash growth products out there, it's not impossible to achieve long, curly and captivating eyelashes. But besides such products which can enhance your eyelashes, there are various eyelash treatments you can avail of that guarantee extraordinarily beautiful results.

Eyelash Extensions

If you're naturally born with thin and short eyelashes, an eyelash extension treatment can help lengthen and thicken your lashes. Here, synthetic single fiber polyester thread-like materials are attached to the natural eyelashes to make them look longer, thicker and fuller.

The synthetic eyelashes are attached using a surgical-grade adhesive.  You can choose between different lengths, colors, and thickness of the extensions. You can opt to achieve a simple, natural look or go all out with extra long extensions. These extensions can be used even while swimming, taking a bath or sleeping.

The whole procedure usually takes one and a half to two hours. The extensions can last from two weeks to two months, depending on your hair growth cycle.

Eyelash Tinting

Eyelash tinting is another form of eyelash enhancer that makes your eyelashes look darker and longer. With eyelash tinting, you can dye your lashes any color you want, from modest colors such as black and brown, to daring ones such as blond or light brown.

This procedure serves as a good alternative to mascara. With eyelash tinting, you won't have to bother applying mascara every single day because your eyelashes are already dyed and enhanced with tint.

The eyelashes are tinted using a natural vegetable dye. The procedure is non-invasive and relatively safe. However, it's advisable that you have yourself checked first for allergies or skin sensitivities before undergoing the procedure.

Eyelash Perming

Another popular eyelash treatment, an eyelash perm procedure is meant to curl your natural lashes to make them look sexier and to successfully open up your eyes. The whole procedure can take from 30 to 45 minutes. Here, a special solution is applied to the eyelashes, and the lashes are wrapped around a mini sponge or roller. A perming solution is further applied to the upturned lash and left for a couple of minutes. The stunning results may last from two to three months.

An eyelash perm procedure must be administered by a trained professional from a salon or spa. Though the procedure is relatively safe, you may experience slight stinging around the eyes due to the chemicals used.
