Humans have strived for a better life with the invention of new technologies. Thomas Alva Edison invented the fist lighting source running on electricity. The invention of bulb was a revolutionary breakthrough in the scientific world. This mesmerizing invention inspired many and so many other lighting sources has been invented like halogen bulbs , CFL, incandescent tubes etc. But the most popular and efficient lighting source is the LED lights. Because of their enormous advantages the popularity of LEDs are increasing day by day.
We all love to get the best, whether it is a hamburger or a super bike we prefer the best then why not in lighting sources? In this article let us see some of the main advantages of LED lights that gave it the title “king of lighting sources”
• No one has ever bought anything of high quality at low costs. They have always been expensive and will continue to be so. But what if we get the best stuff in the cheapest cost. Yes that’s what we get in the case of LED lights. One of the most popular opponents of LED lights is the neon lights. LED lights are about 10 percent cheaper than the neon lights. But when comparing the other features like durability and life expectancy, neon lights are far less superior to the former.
• LED lights are very small when compared to any other conventional light source. Thus, they can be used almost anywhere. Most small scale electronic appliances use LED to produce signals inside them. They prove to be a good lighting source when compared to other bulbs and that too with very less power compensation. The light produced by a 100 W incandescent bulb is same as the light produced by a 6 Watt bulb. This shows how much power we can save by using LED. If we compare LED’s with neon lights, the LEDs are 1/3 to 1/5 times less thick than neon lights. This brings some major applications of LED’s in manufacturing fancy sign boards, strip lights, and so on.
• Due to their light weight and compact size, LED lights can be easily transported at affordable rates. They can be shipped in huge bulks at very low costs. They are lighter and thinner and hence can be transported with ease. Installation of LED lights are not a difficult job, anyone can replace them easily.
• Another important feature is the life expectance of LED bulbs. They are known to have a running time of 50,000 hours, that is, almost 15 times greater life expectancy when compared to other bulbs. All these factors do make LED bulbs a little overpriced, but think of it as an investment where you can save money in future by using the same product for years and also power consumption.
