How To Write A Good Resume Cover Letter ?

Author: Peter Foo

All graduates who seek an employment after finishing their college have to keep in mind their salary expectation.

Once you have made up your mind in this regard, you must prepare a resume, which justifies your job salary expectation. You should mention however the salary expected, which is within the limits of salary for graduates. Once the resume is in place, a nice covering letter to this resume will prove to be grate bouncer.

  • Why a cover letter is needed?

You will need a cover letter whenever you send a resume or application to a potential employer. The letter should capture the employer's attention. You must emphasize why you are writing and indicate why your employment will benefit the company,. You should ask for an interview, confidently in the cover letter itself.

Mention the specific information that must be included in such a letter with an eye on the employer’s requirement, individually. Each letter must be typed perfectly. Here Word processing equipment helps. First paragraph and specifics concerning an interview will vary. These items are easily changed on word processors and memory typewriters. If you do not have access to such equipment, you might be able to rent it. Or you might be able to have your letters typed by a resume or employment services agencies listed in the yellow pages. Be sure you know the full cost of such a service before agreeing to use one. Fresh graduates have to bear the cost in mind, as their may not be enough money to shell out

  • Make this letter Systematic

Start each letter should address to the person you want to talk to, by name. It can be your employers name itself, who is the person to hire you. This is almost certainly not someone in the personnel department, and it is probably not a department head either. It is most likely to be the person who will actually supervise you once you start work. Call the company to make sure you have the right name. Spell it correctly. A discussion on good salary for graduates can start from here only.

Open the letter in such a manner that is appealing to the reader. Cover letters are sales letters. Sales are finalized after you capture a person's attention. You capture the reader's attention most easily by talking about the company rather than yourself. Mention their projects under development, recent awards, or favorable comments recently published about the company. If you are answering an ad, you may mention it, give reference if someone suggested you to write the letter.

All those graduates looking for a good salary should mention in the body of the letter, giving a brief description of your qualifications with reference to the resume.

While closing the letter try to desire that which you can deserve.   At the end of the letter, request an interview. Salary for graduates is better to be left for the employer to decide... Use a standard complimentary close, such as "Sincerely yours,"
