There are plenty of reasons why choosing a nursing career is a great choice. In this article, I'll go over some of the reasons why entering the lucrative nursing field may be the best decision ever.

There are virtually limitless choices when it comes to choosing a career. Some careers are extremely rewarding and lucrative, and can last a long time. Others are fairly short lived. Whether you are just starting out, or in the middle of a career change, then you have plenty of options. One of the fastest growing and in demand jobs today is a registered nurse. If you are considering becoming a nurse, then this article is for you. You'll learn a couple reasons why becoming a nurse is perhaps the best choice you can make.

The first reason is perhaps the most widely reported in recent times. It's no secret that the government is planning a massive increase in health care coverage in the near future. This means an increased number of jobs, primarily nurses and physicians. There will be more people covered for health care, and more things that health care will cover. The demand for registered nurses will be particularly strong in coming years.

Another reason for the rapidly expanding need for registered nurses is simple demographics. The baby boomers are starting to retire, and when they reach a certain age, there will be an untold demand for health care. With so many people reaching retirement age, the health industry is expected to explode when it comes to health care demands by the elderly.

Another reason why nursing is such a great career choice is that with rapidly increasing technology, there are more and more areas of specialization opening up. This means if you are just starting out, you have much wider range of areas to choose from. Not only is this available to those just starting out, but mid career nurses are also changing areas of specialization, which is allowing a much broader and richer range of careers within the nursing field.

If you haven't been keeping up with the news in the past couple of years, there's a pretty big global recession going on. People are getting laid off right and left. Corporate downsizing has claimed untold victims. Most people know somebody that has suffered from these. However, if you are a registered nurse, you don't have to worry about any of this. Hospitals will always be in business. You'll never have to worry about the recession, the stock market plunging, or any other financial news. Your job will be virtually recession proof.

A nurse is a fantastic career choice. There are many reasons your job will always be in demand. Advanced technology means you'll have more areas than ever to specialize in. And with the state of the current health care industry, you'll literally be able to work wherever you want. This could be the most important choice you'll ever make.
