Miss Louisiana Teen America Selected

Author: Brockwell Bone
Date Created: May 9, 2008 - 10:41:11 AM

Amber Gautreau, a Baton Rouge teen, was appointed the title Miss Louisiana Teen America. She will represent our state at the national competition for Miss Teen America in Nashville this July where she has a chance at one of five $40,000 scholarships.

Amber’s charitable cause is Dreams Come True of Louisiana, Inc., a non-profit organization that grants “dreams” to children throughout Louisiana with life-threatening illnesses.

Ms. Gautreau is in the top 5 percentile of her junior class at Woodlawn High School in Baton Rouge. She participates in many extra-curricular activities including BETA, French Club, and Cooperative Office Education. And serves as Vice President of National Honors Society, and captain of the cheerleading squad at Woodlawn.

As Miss Louisiana Teen America, Amber plans to not only raise support to attend the competition in Nashville, but to also create, organize, and attend fundraising events for Dreams Come True of Louisiana.
