Pit Bikes and more

Pit Bikes are simply a smaller type of dirt bike or motorcycle that has become very popular over recent years since around 2000, with men in particular. They are mainly used off road and first started out as driving around pits or tracks on a motocross race. Many people ride pit bikes all around the world, but they have become a huge hit in America and in particular Southern California.

They are available to purchase from many different retailers around the world, both in person and online. There are some affordable prices to be had, whether you are after a brand new or a second hand one. The bikes are also quite small, making them easy and light to transport.

Often used in racing similar to Motocross, they are popular for contests around the world. When racing on a dirt track, knobby tires are very important, so there is an art to getting the bike prepared for each competition. Supermoto is gradually becoming less popular over pocket bikes, which have speeds of around 60 miles per hour at its fastest. Slick tires are important for this type of race.

Pit parks are also becoming a big trend as they are similar to skateparks. People can show off tricks to one another and perfect their skills. Concrete and metal platforms are best for this, as the bikes can ruin wooden parks used in skating. Slick tires are better than knobby ones for this, but either is acceptable. There are also other skills such as Street and Stunt, providing a large platform for any pit bike fanatic to learn tricks and become better equipped with it.

There are various different types of pit bikes available. Japanese children’s mini cycles are mainly aimed at children, so are good as a first version, where updates can be made as they get older and have more experience. This can be quite expensive and take up a lot of time, but some people prefer to do this than purchasing a production pit bike.

The first production Pit Bikes became available around the year of 2003, so there was no need to convert Japanese mini cycles anymore. The design of this SDG Speed Mini was based around the Honda CRF-50, but with a bigger engine and higher handle bars. It also has a stronger suspension and many other benefits.

At the end of 2004, the Pitster Pro was introduced and from then on many more versions and models came onto the market. The interest from the public started to grow from there. Nowadays, there are many pit bikes available to purchase, which includes SSR, Pitster Pro, Piranha, Pit Pro and G2 Moto. Make sure you buy your pit bike from a reputed dealer and ensure you get quality customer service and support along with regular supply of spare parts as and when required.
