Solar Solutions

A solar water heating system provides up to 75% of your annual hot water needs. It can be effective anywhere in New Zealand, even in less sunny areas. Over time, it can pay for itself through lower power bills. By using solar water heating, you’ll also help reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.

Relying on the sun alone using simple solar panels, especially with our New Zealand climate, however, doesn’t give us the guarantee of hot water all year round. Renowned for its range of lifestyle appliance solutions, Rinnai has launched the new Rinnai Solar Water Heating range, which lends nature a hand by adding a gas or electric boost

when skies are grey, offering an environmentally friendly option that doesn’t compromise your lifestyle or budget.

Factors such as how much sun your house receives, the angle of your house, the frequency of frost, and water quality, need to be identified to ensure solar energy is right for you. “Solar is not right for everyone, but if it’s right for you, it’s a move you will not regret, says Dave Waters, Sales and Marketing Manager of Rinnai Gas Appliances in New Zealand. “We recommend the Infinity gas boost to ensure maximum energy efficiency plus endless hot water, but a gas boost isn’t the right choice for everyone so we also offer an electric boost option.”

To take the hassle out of specifying the right solar system Rinnai has designed a number of total system options for you to select from, each in a range of three sizes and with a choice of standard or Frost Tolerant panels. Now the company is offering the next two of its solar solutions — Economy and Standard. Economy offers an excellent low-cost solar hot water system and includes an electric boost. Standard offers a lower-cost system providing all the convenience of unlimited hot water and added solar efficiency with an Infinity gas boost. The Economy and Standard Solar Solutions come with glass-lined tanks, panels, boost, pump and fittings kit.

To suit those with more experience, all components can be ordered individually, allowing you to specify and design your own system utilising quality Rinnai components. Each system comes with Panel Installation kits and Tank

Installation kits, ensuring you have all the parts necessary to fit a system. Installation and managing the council approval process is fast and easy thanks to installation manuals and supporting documents available online.

To help those new to solar water heating, Rinnai is running a comprehensive installation training programme.
