The Bonus Advantage of Synthetic Grass

Artificial grass is established these days as a sports arena and playground surface but is largely shunned around the family home. I’ve got a confession to make, when you read this article you’re going to believe that this is another of those strange ideas that will never catch on. But give the ideas below a chance and perhaps it’s the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

Everyone is thinking of ways they can do their bit to live a more environmentally conscious lifestyle - the ways to do so are endless. There are many ways we can reduce our carbon emissions output because almost each choice we make in our daily life has some sort of impact on our carbon footprint.

If you're like the majority of people, the lawn in your yard will be made of some kind of living grass. It's possible that one of the ways to do your bit for the environment that you haven't given any thought to is the kind of lawn you keep up.

There has been a lot of work allocated to technological advancements in synthetic grass, particularly in the area of replicating the look and feel of the fake turf. Making synthetic grass appear as natural as possible is an important feature.

There are some factors to consider that go into keeping up a lush, green lawn:

- It costs money to maintain a lush, green lawn.

- Lawns need regular trims with the lawnmower.

- Healthy, green, well-grassed lawns require regular watering.

- Lawns require pesticides, weed killers and fertilizers.

If you live in areas that suffers drought, you will have experienced water restrictions the likes of which haven't been felt before. The very last priority during such critical times is the lawn which quickly dies off and goes brown. In extreme circumstances the grass disappears, the dirt gets compacted and you're left with a yard that has turned into a dust bowl.

Now replacing your ailing lawn with an artificial grass equal addresses each of these environmental concerns. Spilling chemicals into the ground will have a cumulative effect on the ecosystem with the chemicals leeching away into our water systems. In drought afflicted areas, using it to water our grass is essentially a luxury we can't afford.

A consideration to the elderly is also a factor. As you get older your ability to maintain the lawn will drop off so too might your access to money to pay for the upkeep. Replacing the grass with artificial grass may well be the answer.

Artificial grass comes with many positives such as the fact that much less maintenance time is required for its upkeep, the costly act of watering the grass is removed, wear and tear no longer becomes an problem, it's green for the entire year and it's better for the environment because it takes away the need for a lawnmower and chemical application.

The growth rate of grass in summer is so great that your lawn needs mowing weekly as the lawn takes off and grows like at no other time. Using the lawnmower each week is yet another source of carbon being added to the atmosphere, it doesn't matter whether you own a petrol powered lawnmower or an electric lawnmower.

Artificial grass will benefit the environment at an increasing rate over time, too, with every atom of chemical that hasn't been poured, every drop of water saved and every second the lawnmower hasn't had to run. The result puts the environment in an even better position than it otherwise would be. Switching from natural grass to artificial grass will make a big reduction in your carbon footprint and will be helping to do your bit for saving the environment.

The savings in the wallet are the bonus that will provide the added incentive to agree   that synthetic grass is a worthwhile alternative. This should just be a starting point for you as you learn more about the positive aspects of artificial grass.
