Oil filled
radiator heaters are perfect for any small to medium sized room, e.g. bedroom,
living room, study and so on. Their electric powered oil-filled radiator
heaters provide fast and flexible heating for an entire room. Some of their
models are also equipped with safety features that make them safe to use in the
bathroom.
Their models
have a range of heat settings which can be used depending on how quickly or
what heat is desired. There is also an adjustable thermostat which allows the
user to set the desired temperature and also offers the environmentally
conscious a useful feature. There are many companies that produce oil filled
radiators including Dimplex, Honeywell and Delonghi along with many others.
DeLonghi
are one of the main producers of oil
filled radiators and are perfect for keeping warm during winter months. If used
as the only heat source for a room then they are best used for small to medium
sized rooms up to about 12 square meters. If you would rather not pay for
central heating bills to heat your whole house, a DeLonghi oil filled radiator
heater may be perfect for your requirements.
Dimplex oil filled
radiator
heaters
are an excellent option for those
searching for a quality oil filled radiator. They have a wide variety of styles
and models which includes the following ranges, Cadiz, oil filled column, MK1,
OFX and their compact oil filled column. So it can be seen by their confidence
in their own products that Dimplex oil filled radiators are a high quality
space heating option.
Dimplex also make some
premium models which are wall mounted. These are the Dimplex MK1 and
Dimplex OFX lines. The OFX have even
more features than the MK1 range and are Dimplex's top oil filled radiator
heaters. Both of these styles are either free standing on feet, not wheels, or
mounted upon a wall. Their dimensions are much different than the mobile
varieties. Rather than being small and compact blocks they are much wider and
flatter and look like typical central heating radiators. Although rather than
having water as their thermal fluid, these radiators have a special kind of
sealed in oil. The OFX models come with a 24 hour timer which allows users to
set when they want the unit to turn on and off. There are various points that
must be remembered when fitting one of these panel style radiators to a wall.
For example they cannot be fitted touching the floor. Nor can they be fitted
near the ceiling. Being fitted below a power point or very close to curtains is
also dangerous so must be avoided.
There are
many different heating solutions that people may turn to during the cold months
of the year.
Central heating is an
excellent option for those that can afford it. Both the installation and
running costs may be prohibitively expensive for many. Gas powered heaters may
be more efficient than oil powered radiators however they are problematic due
to the harmful gasses they give off so for the safetly conscious my not be
ideal. Electrical halogen heaters are good for people looking for a
concentrated heat source however again these may be considered less than ideal
due to the very hot temperatures reached and risk of starting fires. These
safety concerns are powerful reasons why oil filled radiators with there range
of safety features may be considered a better option. When compared to halogen
type heaters they work out as more economical too.
The way
oil filled radiator heaters
work is by using the electrical power source to heat the oil contained within
the heating unit. This liquid is sealed within the radiator and should last for
as long as you have the radiator. The electric heating elements warm the oil to
very high temperatures well over 100 degrees Celsius. This oil then transmits
its heat over time to the heating fins of the radiator. There are different
advantages to this. Firstly using oil instead of another liquid like water
means that the heating appliance does not need to be built to withstand high
pressures. This is because the boiling point of the particular oils that are
used in these heaters are two or three times as high as water. Using this kind
of internal heat transfer system is beneficial because they are cheaper to
produce. Another advantage is that the oil retains heat well and slowly
releases it to warm the heating fins over time. This means that rather than a
blast of heat as is often the case with halogen heaters, oil filled radiators
provide a longer lasting warmth released over time. Thirdly unlike typical
electrical heaters that have dangerously hot heating elements that are exposed
and give off a strong heat that could be considered a fire hazard, oil filled
radiator heaters never heat up to such extreme temperatures on the outside so
may be considered a safer home heating option.
The portable kinds of
radiators are great as a supplement to central heating while the wall mounted
panel style can be used instead. It really depends upon the heating needs of
the household that will determine which variety would be more appropriate.
While these heating appliances are not the cheapest on the market today, with
their guarantees and energy efficiency they may prove to provide savings over
the long term. In the cold winter months having some extra heating options is a
great way to stay warm. Dimplex oil filled radiator heaters are very high
quality electrical heating appliances and are an option worthy of
consideration.
