OAKLAND,
Calif., Nov. 16, 2009 – Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP adds Mark Douglas Epstein as a partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group.
Previously a name partner with Alborg, Veiluva & Epstein LLP, Epstein has more than 15 years of experience in real estate, business and insurance coverage law.
“Mark’s use of early focused and efficient litigation and settlement strategies has earned him an outstanding reputation and a loyal following among the Northern California real estate and title insurance communities,” said Daniel Rapaport, managing partner for Wendel Rosen.

Epstein has a solid track record of successful client representations on a variety of issues relating to real property, general liability, title insurance, escrow, commercial landlord-tenant, business and contract disputes.
He has a particular expertise resolving easement, boundary line, encroachment and lien priority disputes, defending real estate professionals against professional negligence claims, providing analysis and counseling on insurance coverage and risk management matters, and drafting and negotiating real estate purchase and sale agreements.
Prior to his nearly 10 years at
Alborg, Epstein was an associate in Gordon & Rees’
San Francisco office.
A frequent speaker on California real estate and title insurance law, he has handled numerous presentations for the National Business Institute, and he authored “Escrow 101: Follow the Instructions,” published in the February 2005 issue of the California Land Title Association’s “Claims Awareness Hot Sheet,” among other articles.
Epstein is a member of the American Bar Association Tort and Insurance Practice Sections and a member of both the
Alameda and Contra Costa County Bar Associations.
Epstein earned his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law (1993) and his B.A. in political science from the
University of
California,
Davis (1989), where he was a Dean’s List honoree.
