Isn’t it exciting to watch your
favorite rock band’s journey from rags to riches compiled in a
documentary? Positively yes. And when the rock band is Kings of Leon,
there’s no negation inhere not only for their fans, but critics
too. This documentary is strictly a no-no miss for die-hard Followill
fans who’ve been following them throughout their music career that
spans for over ten years.
Kings of Leon have treated their fans
in way through music videos, chartbusting tracks and have now picked
this new mode to get closer to fans worldwide. That said, a mention
of their upcoming work has to be done. ‘Talihina Sky: The Story
of Kings of Leon’, documentary features the Kings’ boys and
showcases reconnecting to their home soil, Oklahoma.
Through Talihina Sky, KoL fans could
get to know untold stories about the rock gods. Born to a preacher
man, Followill brothers were brought up in a religiously-rich
lifestyle. Sky even illuminates at places portraying the way
Followill brothers made it big in the US, despite of having no proper
rock-music background anywhere in the family.
There is an easy interpretation of the
way three teenagers from the South, owning nothing but a band name,
Kings of Leon, turning false all impossibilities. Just as their
music, their documentary too is superbly crafted into 87-minute movie
directed by Stephen C. Mitchell. The project even contains special
screenings of their parents and their comments, as the extended
family divulges their early music careers that stuck only to
Christian-music.
The boys’ reunion with their family
outshines KoL’s worldwide success, which is the essence of Talihina
Sky. Talihina Sky is no home video, but it is a full-length feature
movie that captures Kings of Leon’s journey through past 8 years.
Sometimes in the movie, recordings through handheld cameras can also
be spotted, in a way that is the Kings’ way though.
Throughout the movie, you’d be taken
to Kings’ early house, where the three brothers, Caleb, Nathan and
Jared grew up. Matthew dropped in regularly to stay at the barely
liveable house, the home of Kings of Leon.
Talihina was already premiered at
Tribeca Film Festival and at Oklahoma City’s deadCenter film
festival. Since few months, the band have released around four clips
of the documentary. Kings of Leon is probably the first band to have
garnered attention due to their backstory being rolled into a movie.
So, this time, grab your Kings of Leon tickets
to this documentary and enjoy watching at a theatre near you.
