Recommended AssociatesUnderstanding the Gist of Organic SEOBy Hank-Smothers Nov 25, 2011 - 6:23:00 AM The internet platform has become very competitive over the last
few years. Most businesses are now finding that the internet was not just a fad
like many critics said back then. However, creating a website today is not
enough because there are millions of competitors from all over the world. As
such, there is the need for search engine optimization (SEO) to ensure that your
site is always ranked high in the search engine results. These results are received when an internet user searches for a particular product/service using a keyword from search engines including Google, MSN, and Yahoo among others. There are many techniques of raising a site’s visibility but they are broadly divided into organic SEO and Pay Per Click advertising (PPC). Of the two methods, organic SEO has received better reviews but for one to understand why, it is imperative to differentiate them. A PPC campaign entails the use of advertisements placed highly on search
engines to bring traffic to the site. These adverts are based on specific
keywords that are highly competitive between different competitors. The more
money a site bids on a keyword, the higher the advert will appear thus raising
the probability of getting more visibility. Organic SEO on the other hand emphasizes the steady increase in keyword cultivation and optimization to ensure natural growth of the site over time. Organic SEO also aims at optimizing the site and its pages for the particular keyword or phrase such that any search using that keyword will lead the visitor directly to your site. Keyword growth has been known to increase the customer base and trust and as such, organic SEO will earn your site not only higher ranking but also more traffic. Having observed the basics of the two methods, it seems clear that though the
results of the organic SEO mode are not instant there are many more benefits to
be accrued. For starters, it is the more cost effective way of getting more
traffic because the site does not have to pay for any adverts. In addition, due
to the research on the keyword and optimization for the same, the traffic that
comes to your site will be relevant and in need of your products and services. In essence there is a probability of getting more sales enquiries and even closing more sales when a site uses the organic methods. The other advantage that cannot be gainsaid is the fact that the results of applying organic SEO are more stable over time. When the search engines change their algorithms as happens frequently, your ranking won’t be affected but those using PPC adverts will fall flat on the ranking. The use of organic SEO is increasing as more sites realize that use of PPC and some black hat techniques is destructive in the long run. Though the organic search engine optimization might seem easy, it is always advisable to get an expert to do it for you. There is a lot of initial research involved for the keyword or phrases and if you don’t get this right, the whole campaign will be fruitless. In addition, organic SEO requires a lot of content changes, copywriting which are labor intensive activities. Link to this article:Share: Tell a Friend About This Site
