Do you just have a plain white background for your color brochures? If you do, then you might want to rethink your brochure printing. There is more to brochure printing than having white backgrounds you know. There are actually plenty of things that you can apply to your custom brochure backgrounds to make it a lot more interesting. Let me give you five of the most commonly used ones so that you can try these out for your own custom color brochure printing.
1. Texture design effects – The very first thing that you should try out as a background for your color brochure printing are texture design effects. A texture effect is basically a design application feature wherein a certain kind of material pattern is added to your background.
So for example, you can make it look like the background is made up of canvass, cloth, crumpled paper, wood, metal, sand etc. There are a lot of interesting design applications for textured background and they typically contribute a lot to the brochure theme. So if possible try to add these texture design effects.
2. Pattern effects – Another good effect for a background are pattern effects. From chequered patterns, to swirls, repeated circles and shapes, there are plenty of interesting patterns that can be added to your brochure backgrounds. These patterns offer a little bit of detail to your custom brochures adding to the overall theme of the colored prints. This type of effect is actually best for color brochures with a lot of blank spaces, as the patterns make sure that there is always something subtle to look at throughout the whole brochure print.
3. Color gradient effects – A great background effect that is popular today for color brochures are those color gradient effects. These effects basically involve having a color shift from one hue to another in seamless fashion throughout the background. The color gradient basically adds a more dynamic background that is actually similar to how many people see things in real life. That is why color gradients are great. You can apply this easily to your background, and almost any kind of custom brochure can benefit from this effect.
4. Lighting effects – Light effects can also be very beneficial for your color brochure printing. “Spotlighted” areas within a color brochure basically add emphasis to those areas, leading people’s eyes to the locations that matter. In a lot of cases, designers at spotlights to certain images or text in the brochure, or sometimes they add in a sort of flood light effect to a whole section or paragraph. This can be a great tool to lead on readers to where you want them to go, so this is a great background effect for marketing brochures if you are making them.
5. Watermark effects – Finally, you can also try to add a simple watermark effect in your custom brochures. Watermark effects just add a subtle shape or image to the background that both enhances but never distracts from the content. This is a perfect finishing touch to a design, especially for public relations or business brochures that need to look impressive.
Great! Why don’t you try out some of these background effects in your color brochures? Trust me they’ll add a whole new dimension to your brochure printing. Just remember to always match your theme with your specific background effect. There is always a way to use these effects powerfully integrated with your brochure themes. Good Luck!
