Coarse Fishing Tackle Review: The Shimano Catana 2500 RA Reel

In the case of cold forged aluminium, the metal also is subjected to a heat treatment tempering process that makes it strong. The Catana 2500 RA has a spare extra-light graphite spool along with the conventional aluminium spool. Regardless of its exceptionally low cost of around £24.99, the reel contains 3D CAD-CAM designed gearing for excellent functioning and outstanding efficiency.

Another high tech feature found on this affordable reel is the progressive multi-disk rear drag system that has a surprisingly wide variety of adjustments. This makes the reel ideal for anything from heavy spinning to light match fishing. The Dyna-Balance® element may be thought of as likened to balancing an auto tyre. This practice takes care of rotor wobble throughout the retrieve. The Varispeed® oscillation facet assures accurate line lay. Finally, the 2500 RA's Super Stopper II® facilitates instant hook setting. Considering the purchase price, this reel is full of parts generally found on more costly models.
