Do you need some extra help with losing weight or getting in shape? Forget about seeing professional nutritionist or paying a personal trainer. There are thousands of fitness and weight loss applications available to Smartphone users. These apps can help you keep track of the food you eat during the day, the calories you consume and the exercises you do.
To offer you help in the process of losing weigh and building great body shape, I made a list of some iPhone apps (they are available for iPod and iPad users, too).
“Lose it”
This app is simple and easy for use. All you have to do is to enter your current weight, height, age, gender, physical activity and the weight that you want to achieve. After entering the basic information, the app sets a calorie limit for you. It gives you a calorie budget just to remind you about the amount of calories you can take during the day. For an example, you’ve entered that you want to lose 1 pound a week. So, after each meal or snack you must enter info about the food you have eaten. Using this information, the app tells you how many calories you have consumed and how many you can take until the end of the day.
Also, you can input the exercise you do through the day, starting form playing an instrument to football. That way you’re telling the app that you’ve burned some calories.
“Fitness Pro”
This app helps you get in shape. It works like a personal trainer. It suggests the exercises you have to perform in order to achieve the desired look. It gives you exercises for each body part like, legs, arms, etc. Once you have selected the body part you want to improve, the app gives you a list of exercise especially made for that body part. If you don’t know how to perform the exercise, don’t worry. The app gives you step by step instructional photos explaining how to perform the particular exercise.
Besides the exercise program, this app gives you an explanation of the body muscle structure. So, you can read about the different muscle groups before you start doing exercises.
“Restaurant Nutrition”
This app shows you the nutrition value of 200 restaurants menus and tracks your calorie intake. For an example, you are sitting in some restaurant and wondering whether to order a Caesar Salad or Pasta Primavera. This app helps you in making the right meal order. It gives you the nutritional value of the meal you want to order. That way you’ll be aware about how many proteins, calories, crabs and fats each meal contains before you order it. Sounds great right?
There are thousands of apps that can help you lose weight and get in shape. Choose the one that fits you best and start your “journey”.
