Soccer-Who Wants To Be The Next Millionaire?

Inflated pay packets, million dollar endorsements and model girlfriends, no wonder soccer has exploded onto the scene growing each year exponentially. So my question is, who wants to be the next millionaire?

When you think about Soccer what's the first thing that comes to mind. Your thoughts might conjure up vivid images of Ronaldo scoring a goal or dribbling past a number of players. You might refer to Manchester united or even Barcelona and even remember the days when you graced the green pastures.

The modern game of soccer has changed the way we view the sport as fans. Players these days are worshiped from every corner around the world and some are even more popular than their local governments or rock stars.

The point I'm trying to make is that soccer has become big business for all involved. Player's salaries over the past few years are definitely on the up and it seems the world economy has no effect on their pay packets.

Some might argue that these players like Ronaldo, Kaka and Messi are not worth the six figures they receive each week. Yes you heard correctly, each week. But before we scrutinize their salaries, let's investigate why the clubs are paying this kind of money.

Clubs are prepared to pay this kind of money because their return on their investment allows them to do so. Having a player like Christiano Ronaldo on your payroll ensures you will bank millions of dollars in endorsements and merchandise. Although the club pays a hefty sum for his service, the club reaps the rewards financially and in the Premiership. It's a win-win situation for both parties.

Great soccer players are always scouted to the big clubs because they understand the benefits of winning trophies. With success and trophies come the big sponsorships and the big crowds and international fan bases. This inevitably leads to some clubs grossing billions of dollars per season all on auto-pilot.

With success on the park comes the opportunity to perform on the biggest stage sport has to offer, the Champions League. The Champions League allows the best teams from all over Europe to compete and test their own home grown talents against some of the biggest clubs on this earth. Do you know what the financial gain is for a club that wins this prestigious cup? Look it up but make sure you are sitting down.
