Traffic is the most important thing in any web business. You also need to have a very good offer for your visitors – giving them a reason for them to do business with you. Once the visitors is in your website, you can have them join your mailing list, purchase a product or subscribe to your RSS feed.
What you need to do though is getting the traffic and sustaining it. How, then do you get traffic to your site? These are the best and fastest ways to get free visitors coming to your site:
* Web 2.0 Sites
* Articles Directories
* Video Marketing
The following are the best ways to use them:
Web 2.0
By web 2.0 we mean any site where the users actually create the content. The exciting thing about Web 2.0 sites is that you get to add your own content and it becomes part of these sites. And because of the highly interactive and popular nature of these sites, Google and other search engines “index” their content regularly. The benefit of this to you is that your content is now considered as part of these sites. So, if you place links to your own site inside your content, you get a search engine ranking benefit from those links. The direct traffic from the Web 2.0 sites themselves is only part of the benefit. How to generate web 2.0 traffic is something we’ve only scratched the surface on. I don’t want to be exhaustive – I want to give you an overview of all the methods…
Article Marketing
The next thing we want to talk about is article marketing. This is because article websites are really web 2.0 site. Just like web 2.0 sites, article websites allow you to upload your own content – as articles. And just like other web 2.0 sites, you get all the SEO benefits from having your content on them. And the hidden benefit here is that your reach grows as other people take your articles and put them on their blogs and sites. And along with your article, they have to include your author information and a link back to you – so you get more free traffic and SEO benefits. If you want to generate traffic from articles follow these steps: * Figure out what keywords you want to go after * Tailor the content of your article for the keywords * Use anchor text links in the article and the “resource box”
Video
The last of this group is video marketing. Here to we’re really looking at a web 2.0 sub-category. And it carries all the same benefits of article marketing. The extra top secret benefit of video marketing is that it’s much easier to rank for competitive keywords than in any other medium. Here are just a few video marketing tips: * Get a YouTube account * Turn off all the modules in your account profile * Add tags to your profile * Include a link to your main site in your profile * Add at least one video to your profile * For each video use your keywords in the tags, the descriptions and the title Putting it all together, if you want to get traffic to your site, then follow the advice in this article.
