Do Animal Lovers Need Home Video Security?

There are many reasons why pet lovers should consider installing a home video security system of some kind, but not all pet lovers would absolutely need it. If you are home with your animals most of the time, then you wind up acting as home video security. If you only have one pet that is neutered, gets on with everybody and behaves well when you are out of the house, then you also wouldn't need home video security.

But may pet lovers should, now that the cost of basic home video security is down.

Theft Prevention

There are many reasons why pets are the targets of thieves. Some of these reasons are quite gruesome, including selling your pet for medical research or to train illegal fighting dogs as bait. If your pet is especially friendly and doesn't make mush noise when strangers come around, then they will gladly follow a stranger away, thinking it's all part of a game. You need a home video security to prevent this.

Breeding Behavior

Most animals want to be alone when it's time to give birth. They can become very stressed when a person is in the room or stall with them. Although you know you should leave the mother-to-be alone, you also want to keep a close eye on her for any medical complications. No matter if she's a Thoroughbred mare, a rare color variation of a Chinese dwarf hamster or your common mongrel, you want to do what's best for her. Keeping a virtual eye on her with home video security can give both privacy and protection.

Behavior Problems

Have you ever watched dog or cat shows where an expert trainer cures the crazy pet's problem? They usually start by observing the pet and owner (or pet alone) through a home video security camera computer program or a video system set up by the production team. The point is, your pet is on Candid Camera (or Canid Camera, if a dog). Pets (like people) act differently alone then when watched.

With use of a basic home video security program, you can them watch your pet when the pet thinks they're alone. Then, as soon as they begin to misbehave, you materialize out of seemingly nowhere to give a verbal correction. This can make a powerful impression on a dog or a cat. They realize that they are expected to behave whether they can see you or not.
