A zed card or also more commonly known as the comp cards are the best promotional tool for any model or actor in the entertainment world. These prints more often than not serve as a models portfolio, business card and interview. These prints more often than not have a collection of two or even more images and the models or actors basic statistics like the height, eye color, body mass and so much more that is most of the time printed on two sides of an 8.8 by 5.5 inches piece of paper material.
These comp cards have been around for so many years as the vital advertising tool and material for any model or actor and these things will always retain its given standing because these things are a cost effective manner to effectually and professionally display the model or the actor’s talent and abilities. These prints are utilized on three given levels as these things are utilized at first by models, then by agents and finally by the agents clients. To further improve your know how about these things, all you have to do is to read on below and understand.
The first level – models and actors alike make use of these prints to advertise themselves to modeling agents. Every time a model attends an open call, they will more often than not meet with the agent, have their portfolio reviewed and be shortly interviewed. Open calls are most of the time busy, so not a lot of time can be focused to each person trying out. When the interview is finished, the model or the actor more often than not leaves their comp cards behind. When the open call on the other hand is finished, all the agents will gather to discuss the result. This is where these prints come into play. When the agents are discussing whom they like and they did not like, these agents can now refer to these prints. This print considered as the only reference that all agents have to your talents and abilities. A good print is going to leave a much better impression of professionalism, experience, ability and especially expertise than compared to a snap shot of you.
The second level – after a model or an actor has been contracted with the agency, it now becomes the agent’s responsibility to market or promote the model or actors. Most of you will recognize that most of the agencies more often than not displayed their cards in racks on their walls or in their shelves. This is most of the time done for the same purpose than an art gallery display. The real intention of presenting these prints is to provide any visiting client a visual catalog of the talent that are available, and in turn making all the agents task of finding tools and materials and advertising all the actors or models in a easy manner. Although this very pleasing display is an effective manner in improving talent bookings, it is not the main marketing manner. Most agents mainly send comp cards with the use of mail to image takers, producers, directors, editors and so much more.
There are lots of printers especially online printers who can help you in planning comp card printing for your convenience. All you have to worry about is finding the right printer that will suit your taste and preferences.
