Almost everyone is getting on the commercial mobile bandwagon but it seems not everyone is fulfilling their monetary dreams and. If you're one of those, the following Seven Sins of Mobile Marketing tips could be helpful.

1. Choosing the wrong products. Not all products are created alike. Purchasing reasons on a mobile phone aren't always the same as on a computer. Choose products that are conducive to mobile phones because currently many products purchases are billed to mobile phone bills.

2. Selecting the wrong audience. Remember that not everyone is a costumer for your product. Remember mobile marketing is a world-wide endeavor. Choose products that are "country" appropriate.

3. Ignoring buying capability. Choose the right brand of phone to market to. Statistics show that iPhone users and specifically men are the most likely buyers on mobile phones.

4. Ignoring mobile platforms. Mobile phone platforms are critical to success. As time marches forward many of the platform features will become standard but until such a time consider what the user will see on his or her iPhone, blackberry, android etc before you send to any of them.

5. Ignoring the back yard. Local marketing as it has become known as is huge and getting even bigger. It's wise to explore the use of an app and how to promote it to local restaurants, doctors, furniture stores, pizza places and the like.

Mobile marketing is something very new to most everyone even the most advanced marketers. Many large marketing firms are currently taking a shotgun approach before committing to one specific type of ad campaign but the most useful, from all reports is mobile coupon marketing using apps and SMS.

Whatever you choose from the many options, it's important, and even vital that all options be explored before venturing forth. Mobile marketing can be a very profitable venture and because of its vast marketing possibilities and technical options it's best to apply due diligence to gain commercial success.
