‘Ur So Gay’ was her first internet single which gained a lot of public interest. It succeeded in creating a buzz among the fans with its mischievous lyrics. It is said that the famous pop star Madonna loved her track ‘Ur so Gay’. Her second single ‘I Kissed A Girl’ released in 2008 topped the international charts in almost 20 countries.

Later in that year she released her album ‘One of the Boys’ which was such a success that it earned the platinum certification. In 2004 itself he was written as The Next Big Thing by the Blender Magazine. She always worked for a tongue- in- cheek boisterous pop star image. For a girl who was not even allowed to watch MTV while growing up, all this was a breakthrough success.

‘Hot N Cold’ went on to become her second album with a multi- platinum certification. Her latest album was Teenage Dream was released in 2010 which included many hits like ‘Last Friday Night’, ‘Teenage Dream’ and ‘California Gurls’. With ‘E.T’ she became the first music artist in the history to remain in the top 10 of Billboard Top 100 for a whole year. She has appeared as a guest judge in the British show The X Factor. She considers the judge Cheryl Cole simply gorgeous.

To talk about her private life, she married the British comedian Russel Brand in 2010 in a traditional Hindu wedding which was organized in a luxury resort in the Ranthambhore National Park in India. The ceremony was very grand which included brightly lit lamps, flower garlands and illuminated trees. Both even wore the traditional Indian wedding attire.

Her best friend Rihanna could not make it to the wedding because she was busy with her upcoming album release. She considers Rihanna as a cool girl and takes pride in having her in her life. She is also known for her unconventional dressing style which is considered colorful, vintage and inspired from various decades.

Her Hello Katy tour of 2009 was a global concert tour which was a grand tour. She engaged the same guy who creates stages for Madonna’s concert for her concert. Her obsession with fruits and cats was clearly evident from her tour outfits.
