There is nothing as dull as watching grey squares parading
across your iTunes application as you play your music or even when you are
transferring music from your computer to your iPod using iTunes. The lack of
character on the display of your iPod can be really boring and tiring but
thankfully there are several ways that you can bring back life to your iTunes
application and ensure that the music playing on your iPod has some nice
background to it.
This is where album artwork for iTunes comes in. It makes sure that your music is accompanied by album photos that display the music that you are playing through iTunes or through your iPod.
The new generations of iPods such as the iPod Nano, Touch and Classic allow
you to browse through your music collection in Cover Flow mode but if you have
not yet added album artwork to the music in your iTunes application, you cannot
be able to access this feature.
Album artwork for iTunes has become a very essential feature for every iPod owner because of the character and the flair that it brings to music. Not many people know how to go about the whole process and this guide should prove to be more than enough for anyone who wants to incorporate album artwork for iTunes into their music.
The first and maybe the simplest things that you should do is try to get the
artwork from iTunes directly. The latest version or iTunes has a built in
feature that allows the application to directly match the music in it with album
artwork. The application gets the artwork for iTunes by matching the data from
your music library in iTunes to albums that are available in the iTunes store.
You can directly activate this feature from the Advanced tab on the iTunes application and from there you should be able to see the Get Album Artwork tab. Click on it and let iTunes do the work for you. However, the feature is never 100% effective due to the simple reason that not every piece of music has been uploaded to the ITunes store. You can get a rough idea of this by taking into account that popular musicians such as the Beatles are not on Itunes album artwork catalogue. However, this tab will get you closer to your overall aim.
When you have gone through the first step, you can now fill in the gaps that
Itunes has left behind in your album artwork. It is necessary to fill in the
blanks because once you have been hooked to seeing your music in Cover Flow,
there is no going back. So find all the missing album artwork that need to be
filled so that you can satisfy your desire. To do this, you will need to change
your iTunes view to any of the three available views that are available.
You can either go for the list view, the Cover Flow view or a combination of the two. With any of these views, you will be able to see which songs have not been awarded an album artwork and using iTunes, you can drag a photo on this song. Through these simple techniques you can be sure that all your music will have an album artwork thereby giving an extra dimension to the music in your computer or iPod.
