OST to PST tool for accessing the corrupt offline files

The Truncation tool and Inbox repair tool can prevent the OST files from exceeding the 2GB limitation. To quickly and accurately resolve the OST file errors a user can refer the OST to PST software or convert OST to PST tool.

In the absence of network breakdown the OST (Outlook Storage Table) files in MS Outlook assume the role of damage control – by allowing a user to work in offline mode. In a situation of network downtime a user can work in offline mode with the help of this format. There is a small drawback of the OST files and that is its 2GB limitation. Whenever the OST files exceed the 2GB limitation then they become corrupt. Very soon an error called “Errors have been detected in the file ” appears on the screen. For preventing the data loss a user should manage the OST files with the 2 GB Truncation Utility and Inbox repair tool. The experts also suggest having a convert OST to PST software or OST to PST tool for repairing the MS Outlook.
What is 2 GB Truncation Utility?

2GB Truncation Utility is a Microsoft based utility for cropping the size of OST and PST files. By deleting the unwanted files from MS Outlook and using the Truncation tool a user can dramatically reduce the size of OST and PST files. By using this tool he can also accelerate the sluggish pace of MS Outlook. These are some steps to use the 2GB Truncation utility.

Download the 2GB Truncation Utility from Microsoft and transfer the 2gb152.exe file to another empty folder. Run the Ost2gb.exe program and start cropping the files by selecting them. Here, a user can also specify that how much data needs to be truncated.

Note: For optimizing the performance of MS Outlook to maximum extent, truncate 25 MB or more than 25 MB of OST data. Further truncate the OST size if it is possible.

What is Inbox Repair Tool?

Inbox repair tool is also an inbuilt utility of Microsoft which repairs the OST and PST files of Outlook. It can scan the files for rectifying the minor issues of MS Outlook. This tool is preinst alled in the system along with MS Outlook.
Close MS Outlook and run this command from the start menu: drive: \Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\LocaleID\scanost.exe. Choose the Scan All Folders or Choose Folder to Scan Option and click the Repair Errors check box. The scan begins and stores the files in deleted folder of MS Outlook from where they can be recovered. Export the files in deleted folder to other important folders. A user can also use the Inbox repair tool for other OST and PST errors in MS Outlook.

It is very difficult to manage the Outlook Storage files of MS Outlook.
