User Interface of a Social Networking Website Social networking websites are fast becoming one of the fastest ways to promote a product, service or a company. There are several ways in which one can promote on a social networking website, with link building on social networking being one of the many possible ways. If you are looking for tips for link building in social networks, here are some tips that you should consider.

The Buttons:
The buttons in the template are the single most important aspect of the template. The buttons are the action points in any website, and if they are not interesting or unique enough, the website may not be as snazzy looking as one would want it to be.

Search Bar:
The Search Bar has gained importance and prominence over the past few years. The search bar actually has the dual advantage of allowing the user to search the Internet via your website, and therefore click through the website, and as well as search information that is available on your website and stay back on your website. Either way, it is a win win situation for you. Preferably, the search bar is kept at the top right corner of the template.

The Template:
While making a social networking site template, remember that the template is not the superstar, but the services and features that are offered by your social networking site offers. A very high profile and graphically rich template takes a long time to load, and also it steals the limelight from the site. Remember, your site is not selling the template, but it is actually selling the feature and service that the site offers.

Make the Template Unique:
While you are making the template, keep in mind that it is simple for you, as a client to say that 'I need a Facebook like theme', or that 'I need a MySpace Like theme', but remember that with these ideas your social networking site may come over as a clone of the more successful social networking websites. This does not mean that you should completely ignore the templates of these highly successful websites, but you should take these templates into consideration, understand it and see how you can create something better than the current template.

These are just some of the ideas that you should keep in mind while setting up a social networking site template.
