You work hard for your money and you want a vehicle that can provide everything. That's not too much to ask for - is it? The Dodge Durango not only performs, but it has some of the best towing power on the market today. Oh, and it's cheaper than most powerful automobiles on the road right now - not bad! AutoTrader.com has put the Dodge Durango on the “Must Shop SUVS” list consisting of the best SUV's on the market for towing. AutoTrader's Brian Moody has went on record as saying that trucks may get all the attention for towing capacity but SUV's are a strong competitor. The Dodge Durango as being the best in class (V6 and V8) with insane towing power and capacity. It's capable, even on a smaller V6 engine, of pulling 6,200 pounds of weight. If that wasn't enough to send you to the dealership, the 5.7 liter HEMI V8 is capable of pulling 7,400 pounds of weight with ease. Now you have an excuse to take your boat out on the lake this weekend with friends!
Not only is the Dodge Durango providing you with impressive towing power, it's delivering with some eye candy. This eye catching SUV comes in 8 different colors to choose from. The stunning colors are one thing, but the ability to select if you want rear wheel drive or all-wheel drive is a life saver. The all-wheel drive will help you out of tough situations and keep you chugging along in true Dodge fashion.
The one option that customers love about the Dodge Durango is the 3.45 rear axle ratio. In layman's terms, the lower the axle, the better fuel economy you get and the lower load you put on the battery. On the flip side of that coin, if you have a higher placed axle, you can expect higher acceleration times, bigger carrying loads, and the ability to trek up higher inclines.
New Features
The Dodge Durango is breaking into new territory and now provides drivers with the option of having paddle shifters. In case you're not keeping up to date with the automotive industry, paddle shifters essentially allow the driver to shift via paddles on either side of the steering wheel. One paddle shifts up in gears and the other paddle shifts down in gears. In the past, these types of paddles were only found in high end luxury cars like Lamborghinis and Ferraris.
In conjunction with this, Dodge is trying to save their customers even more money at the pump. The 2014 Dodge Durango (V6) has a fuel efficiency rating of 24 miles per gallon on the highway and 17 miles per gallon in the city. Likewise, the V8 Hemi Dodge Durango has a fuel efficiency of 23 miles per gallon on the highway and 13 miles per gallon in the city.
Summary
The conclusion here is very simple, the Dodge Durango delivers the highest quality towing capacity with a beautifully crafted exterior. Who's the type of person that should consider buying one of these beautiful vehicles? The type of person who wants the most bang for their buck. The 360 horse power engine will be sure to change your mind during the test drive. And the money you save at the pump is enough to put the Dodge Durango at the top of your list.
And to top it all off, this SUV is safe as can be. Dodge has implemented the new Electronic Stability Control (ESC) to help you with your driving experience. It monitors the movements that the vehicle makes and makes corrections for you during dangerous situations. It glides you around corners easily with world class engineering. This is one vehicle you'll want to drive over and over again!
