Intensive driving courses are designed to get you to your pass as quickly as possible while giving you the complete set of real world driving skills that you need to be able to drive properly. One of the more important elements of intensive driving courses are that they are designed to teach you and give you confidence in the car by working through any mistakes you might make and move you through them and beyond without leaving you with them for weeks at a time. Other, traditional courses take months to complete, while intensive courses take only around a week.
The benefits of learning to drive in a week
If you have a lot of real world experience on the roads, for example, you’ve already undertaken some ‘normal’ classes then intensive driving courses are often the best way to get your driving licence fast. Armed forces and those that already know how to drive on private property would also benefit from these courses, as they augment the skills you already have. Even if you’re a total beginner, learning to drive in a week means in some cases that you’re less likely to pick up ‘bad habits’ while driving. Your instructor can focus on teaching you to drive the correct way, without holding you back.
Confidence and skills
Learning to drive in a week is also surprisingly good for a driver’s confidence. Not only do you learn a vital skill for life in a week, but you’re supported in passing, which means you are practically guaranteed in getting a pass, at some point. Many groups offer guaranteed retesting if you fail the first time around, and can often focus on the areas that you’re not as good in. This means that you don’t need to focus on the earlier steps of driving if you’ve already learned them – and gives you the chance to study over a concentrated period. Not only study but put your new skills into practice straight away. This important element of intensive skills courses means that in most cases, you’ll have already completed your theory test before taking part in them, which means you’ll already know almost all of the theory, which means you can focus on the practical elements of driving, while getting immediate, real world experience.
While it’s thought that these courses are designed to make sure that you know the answers to the test, learning to drive doesn’t need to take months, and can instead be completed in more real world time, over a period of a week instead of a month.
