Party
City has begun a nationwide
in-store campaign to raise donations for Keeping Babies Safe educational programs.
Customers will be able to support the cause with dollar donations, collected at
the register at more than 600 Party
City stores. Keeping
Babies Safe (KBS) is a non-profit organization that raises awareness about
unsafe cribs and sleep environments and teaches parents how to prevent injuries
to infants.
Party City's partnership with Keeping Babies Safe will continue until December 31, 2010.
"Protecting your child is a parent's top priority, and Party City is proud to support KBS," says Lisa Laube, President of Party City. "There are so many moments to celebrate during a child's first year of life, and Party City has everything parents need to celebrate all of their baby's milestones, from baby showers and welcome home parties to first birthdays and christening ceremonies."In the past two years alone, 11 million cribs have been recalled for safety reasons. Cribs continue to be the leading cause of death and injury among all nursery products.
"Our new partnership with Party City will help us raise the necessary funds to share critically important safety information on how to avoid suffocation, strangulation and entrapment risks in the sleep environment," says Joyce Davis, president and cofounder of KBS. "As a mother who lost her own son due to an unsafe sleeping condition, I am personally grateful for Party City's enthusiasm and dedication to this worthwhile cause."
