The yellow fever vaccine is also recommended for all domestic and international tourists wanting to visit the following Brazilian areas: North (Acre, Amazonas, Rondnia, Roraima, AMAP, Couples, Tocantins States) and Mid-west (Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goise Distrito Federal States) Regions in Brazil, to all municipalities in Maranho and Minas Gerais, to the municipalities located in South Piau, west and south of Bahia, north of Esp Rito Santo, Northwest of So Paulo and west of the states of Paran , Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.
The vaccine should be taken ten days before your trip, "that's how long it takes for you to protect against the disease. The reason is that in some forest areas in the country, there is an opportunity for people to not have taken the vaccination becoming contaminated and getting sick with yellow fever. The Brazilian coast is free from the disease in a stripe that runs from Rio Grande do Sul to Piau. The forests of the coastal strip from northern Esprito Santo to southern Bahia have not registered turnover of the wild yellow fever virus. It is important to remember that no cases of urban yellow fever has been seen in Brazilian cities since 1942.
Other issues and concerns related to Vaccines:
See the Brazilian consulate in your neighborhood, or the Brazilian embassy in your country, to explain every question and all other information concerning vaccinations in Brazil to obtain.
