January 18, 2010, Clearwater, FL - 4th Friday Clearwater has gone to the dogs! This January, GPA of Tampa Bay, the organization who finds homes for retired racing Greyhounds, will be the benefiting charity at the downtown Clearwater street party, encouraging owners of the famous greyhounds to bring their furry four-legged friends to interact with the crowd for a doggone good time! The event will take place this Friday, January 22nd from 5:30-10pm at the 500 & 600 blocks of Cleveland Street. The live entertainment will be by Kenny McGee and the event is free to the public.
The new line of events has been a real hit in the downtown corridor, bringing 1500-plus people on average to each month’s event, topping it off with 5000 in attendance at the year-end event in December.
The events are always free and have live entertainment with the proceeds from beer and wine sales going to a benefiting charity.
GPA of Tampa Bay stepped forward to provide the needed volunteers in order to have the opportunity to raise much needed funds and awareness for what GPA does.
Because after all, “d ogs are really people with short legs in fur coats!”

IHOPMar 1, 2011 - 3:56:52 PM If you're in the mood for doing something to help eradicate Leukemia and Lymphoma, eat pancakes at IHOP today. There really are only two times when the food served at IHOP is morally acceptable to some people who spend their days rallying against processed food and their nights eating the equivalent of similarly fat food: 1) when they are drunk or 2) when free food is involved. Throw in a good charity like cancer and the place will be overflowing with philanthropists.... [Read the full story] |
