Humor is a very important part of life. It makes our life a
pleasant experience.
Cartoon is an
art form that relies heavily on humor to express various emotions and views.
Humor is the ability to see funny or contradictory aspects
of life and make people laugh. Jokes, cartoons, satires and comedies are forms
of humor that entertain and enlighten people. Humor has an amazing ability to
make people see a unique aspect of the situation without using harsh words.
People are fond of humor and they do not mind if any harsh reality is shown
through humor. The importance of humor becomes more significant in today's
world of political correctness, where people do not like to say anything
against anyone even if the person is doing something wrong. Humor is a polite
and interesting way of showing disapproval of a man or his actions, without
seeming rude.
Cartoon is an art form that describes a funny aspect of a
situation using drawing. Cartoon drawing requires lots of practice as well as
thorough knowledge of the situation being portrayed in the art work. People who
draw cartoons as profession or hobby are known as cartoonists. A cartoon is a
funny illustration of a person or a situation. When physical characteristics of
a person is shown using a cartoon then it is known as a caricature. People
drawing them are known as caricaturists. Drawing a caricature requires a lot of
practice as it is not easy. To draw caricature of a person first of all it is
important to study the facial characteristics of the subject. They find out the
prominent features of the face to exaggerate in the caricature.
In today's world, the art of cartooning is used in various ways. Newspapers use political cartoons, drawn on political current affairs. Comic strips are also published in newspapers that have a set of characters shown in different situations in each new strip. There are animators who use computer software to draw and animate cartoons for making animation films. Even advertising agencies use cartoon to portray any funny situation in an ad campaign.
