A residential cleaning business initially starts by offering maid services. It relies on acquiring hardworking individuals who are thorough in their work. It’s not technical or a skillful job so it requires very little training. It’s important that you choose your staff well. They need to gentle at hand, trustworthy and if possible require little supervision so as to be able for you to oversee and check other jobs if schedules of work happen at the same time. This will also save you from much liability. You wouldn’t want to hire a staff member who might possibly steal something from your client’s premises nor would you want that person to be clumsy and break things while their cleaning.
Commercial cleaning services are mainly janitorial services, which is like maid services but covers a much larger scope of activities. Clientele may include offices, restaurants, banks, hotels, churches, bowling alleys, theme parks and other entertainment to name a few.

If the customer has an additional bedroom or a music room and wants it cleaned, that customer may opt to add-on to have the additional rooms cleaned. You can also charge extra for an application of wax or a flame protective coating on some surfaces. Drape and curtain cleaning may also be an additional service as well as the carpet and upholstery. Stain removal is another specialized item in your service list. You can control this by a job order and this will also serve as a contract where you and your customer will base completion of the accomplished jobs.
Next thing to do is apply for insurance in case you or your staff may incur any damages or accidents while in your client’s premises. This also gives your client the assurance and peace of mind that mishaps will and can be covered. This will also promote your business profile and can be an avenue to put you above any competition.
You will need to procure a background check and police record of yourself to further add credentials to yourself. You must present yourself as a professional company in order to acquire a market. After all, your client’s are trusting you to come in to their home and touch their personal property.
