Orion Ornamental Iron, which celebrates its 26th anniversary this year, provides professional interior designers throughout the U.S. with multiple styles of wood curtain rods and curtain hardware. In its current catalogs, the North Hollywood, California-based company shows nearly 300 finials (160 iron finials, 20 glass finials, 53 resin finials, 27 crystal finials, and 34 wood finials) and more than 37 styles of drapery rods (12 iron rods, 19 decorative rods, and 6 Inlay rods). The company has also introduced an extensive line of iron and wood traversing rods in its Designers’ Choice collection. All poles in this collection can also be motorized.
“Orion offers one of the most extensive lines of curtain finials, curtain hardware, and iron and wood rods in the window treatment hardware industry,” said Sunil Patel, CEO. “Our company designed our curtain hardware so that both designers and their customers are able to select from a really broad grouping of iron, resin, crystal, glass, and wood finials. We also provide iron and wood drapery rods, both traversing and non-traversing. And all of our rods – both iron and wood – can be motorized.”
Orion, whose company focus is custom drapery products, offers traversing and non-traversing styles of curtain rods up to 30 feet in length. Both standard and custom finishes are available on the rods, which come in standard as well as custom lengths.
Orion Ornamental Iron acquired KBlair Finials in 2008, and now offers KBlair’s handcut crystal finials, unique resin finials, distinctive Inlay Rods, and exquisite hand finishes to its customers.
Earlier this year, Orion introduced its Designers’ Choice traversing hardware line. Patel added that this award winning traversing line consists of heavy duty traversing hardware in both iron and wood. “We are the first in our industry to provide both iron and wood traversing rods, in both single and double traversing styles,” said Patel. “And our Designers’ Choice line also includes another designer favorite: all track is available in 4 designer finishes.”
All of Orion’s traversing rods are available with and without rings – another industry first. Iron Art drapery rods are available in 31 finishes and the Wood Art drapery hardware rods are available in 11 different finishes.
According to Patel, Orion Ornamental Iron’s goal is to be known as the company which consistently offers the widest selection of window treatment hardware (including wooden curtain rods and other curtain hardware) in the design industry. “We feel that our selection of more than 300 finials (160 iron finials, 20 glass finials, 53 resin finials, 27 crystal finials, and 34 wood finials) and more than 37 styles of drapery rods (12 iron rods, 19 decorative rods, and 6 Inlay rods) is one of the best in the industry.
“For example, the KBlair Inlay Rods are available with six unique designs, in traversing and in non-traversing, in 20 different finishes, and with and without rings. Both crystal finials and resin finials can be used on these Inlay drapery rods,” said Patel. He added that the KBlair company is noted not only for its Inlay Rods, but also for its custom drapery rods, resin finials, unique hand-painted finishes, and distinctive hand-cut crystal finials.
The handcut, full lead crystal finials come in sizes ranging from a truly remarkable 6.5” in diameter down to a petite 3” in diameter. These crystal finials were designed by KBlair to give designers some exquisite choices in window treatment hardware.
“We all know we are still in the midst of hard economic times. We want to work closely with our interior designer customers,” said Patel, “by giving them an extensive line of finials in iron, resin, crystal, and wood, together with wood and iron curtain rods, at very competitive prices. We provide custom finials and custom drapery rods so designers can offer their customers a unique look. Our wish is to make a designer’s life much easier because our wood curtain rods come up to 30 feet in length, something which is difficult to find. We provide traversing and non-traversing styles with heavy duty hardware,” Patel said, “and give designers an extensive selection of hand-painted finishes,”
