Trailers are made in the studio itself or maybe contracted to outside agencies and of course they are made with utmost care after doing market research and consultation with studio bosses and revisions galore before the final product is released in the market. Attractive trailer with excellent music score, punch-packed actions and sensual romantic scenes will entice people young and old to come in droves to the theatres. Some are of the view that a trailer must summarize the whole movie but others believe that they must only arouse some interest in the viewer. Sometimes movie trailers are used for the marketing and promoting purpose, but the same scene s would be edited from the main movie.
Sometimes movie trailers are shown very much earlier than the movie’s exact release date. This is done to create a hype about the film such that huge crowd is drawn at the release of the film. One can say that to some extent the trailers are the outputs of extensive market research that are conducted or based on the various locations. In order to attract more viewers and audience, producers and distributors advertised some of the mind blowing and catchy scenes to gain more publicity and marketing. Sometimes movie trailers are made especially for the promotional purpose and the scenes shot for the trailer may not be found in the original movie. Sometimes one is shocked that the scene shown in the trailer is missing from the main movie this is commonly used marketing strategies to ensure theatres and multiplexes go house-full. It is always believed that the greater the difference between time frame of the trailer and the movie release makes the movie more awaited and thereby increase the curiosity about the movie trailers are the outputs of extensive market research that are conducted or based on the various locations.
Now-a-days trailers are such an important part of the film publicity that one can find agencies called trailer houses. Promotion and Marketing of the film depends how the movie trailer is targeted in front of the movie-goers, it determines the performance of a movie in the box office. Besides casting stars, producers, directors, music composer, music, lyricist, editor, choreographer, dress designer and all. Film location is also one of the major factors behind the success of the movie. Now days on every news channel rather than news we saw more film trailers rather than news especially before the releasing date of a movie. Movie trailers form a very important component in the marketing of a movie. To some extent it determines the performance of a film in the box office. Keeping this fact in mind the catchy, striking, electrifying excerpts of the films are taken and transformed into sequences of the trailers.
The above mentioned fact can be supported with two examples. In the film 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' the trailers included some sophisticated special effects scenes, that were never intended to be used in the film. But the trailers created a major hype among the audience and the film became a blockbuster.
