Learning how to earn trust back can be tricky. After all, trust is not something freely given. And once lost, it may take more than just an apology to get back.
Luckily, I’m here to show you how to earn trust back. Read on to find out how.
Step 1: Do Something for the Greater Good.
People do a lot of things to break another person’s trust all the time. Whether it’s accidental or deliberate, such things do happen.
The first step on how to earn trust back is to do something that will show that you are a person of character. To do this, you must do something for the greater good - something that may not necessarily benefit you, but will benefit others around you.
Step 2: Correct The Situation.
The second step on how to earn trust back is to find a solution to whatever it is you did to break another person’s trust.
For example, if you broke your grandmother’s trust by accidentally losing the pair of earrings you borrowed from her, you have to search high and low for those earrings. Obviously, those were valuable to her and you broke her trust by being so careless about them.
If finding them is impossible, do something to at least replace said earrings with something of similar or greater value. Apart from an apology, you need to work hard to replace said earrings to show your grandmother how truly sorry you are.
Step 3: Be On Your Best Behavior.
Of course, forgiveness may not come as swiftly as you may have hoped it would. But no matter how long it takes, you need to be on your best behavior.
If you broke your partner’s trust by seeing another person behind their back, you need to make up for the hurt you caused. Most likely, your partner will have you on probation for a while. If you break your partner’s trust again - especially so soon after your first betrayal - you can kiss trust good-bye. Your track record will speak for itself.
If you truly want to learn how to earn trust back, there are certain things you must endure. It’s not fun being at the wrong end of the stick. Trying to get someone to believe in you again is not going to be easy either. However, it is possible.
As long as you are sincere in your actions and intentions, the other person will be able to see just where you’re coming from. However, if the other person feels unable to trust you 100% anymore, don’t push it. There are just some things you need to let go of.

Hey, Stop Snoozing Over There!May 8, 2011 - 9:07:14 AM We lead lives filled with bells and whistles. Unfortunately, they aren't the kind that mean upgrades! Instead, I'm referring to the constant alerts that sound during our day starting with the alarm clock in the morning signaling that a new day has begun to the wristband alert at night reminding us to take our medication. The good news is that these alerts help us remember to do all the things we need to get done each day. Unfortunately, there's a "bad news" part too.... [Read the full story] |
