3D Immersive Environments for Business Special Track at Virtual Edge Summit Reveals Sessions

The new program is devoted specifically to the use of 3D immersive environments in business and rounds out a program with some 30 sessions, workshops and special events at the Summit. January 21, 2010, Santa Clara, CA. --- Virtual Edge Summit 2010, the Summit on virtual events, virtual communities and virtual marketing announced it has published the sessions for the Business 3Di Special Track. The new program is devoted specifically to the use of 3D immersive environments in business and rounds out a program with some 30 sessions, workshops and special events at the Summit.   Business 3Di will take place at the Virtual Edge Summit to be held February 22-23, 2010, at the Santa Clara Convention Center as well as online in a virtual environment.

 

“Virtual world veterans John Jainschigg, Executive Director of Ziff Davis Enterprise's Internet and Community Laboratory, and Kim Smith, COO, World2Worlds, Inc., have helped to put together a great program drawing on experts from around the world,” said Michael Doyle, Executive Director of the Virtual Edge Institute, producers of the Virtual Edge Summit. “The track was originally planned for one day but the response and quality of submitted sessions was so good that we’ve expanded to two days.”

Business 3Di addresses business use of 3D immersive environments and virtual worlds for a variety of applications such as: events, meetings, customer engagements product and process demonstrations, classroom and situational training, market research, data visualization and other innovative applications.

This session will draw on research at the Virtual Worlds @ Work initiative at Strategic Business Insights (a spinout from SRI) to share what we can expect to see from virtual worlds players and platforms over the next few years.
