Living in a loft is a newly developed idea that
has become very popular over the last decade. It is a way by which space
is created in your home without having to spend too much. In some
cities old warehouses have been converted into lofts that are providing a
great service both to the private and the public sector. People are
taking a lot of benefit from these conversions. On one hand they provide
room to old and homeless people and also serving as orphanages and on
the other hand they are contributing to the economy by housing
confectionaries, meat stores, and studios.
Living in a loft
provides you great freedom and comfort. All your living spaces are
within one confine and you don’t have to walk from room to room for your
necessities. Moreover the windows are large extending from the floor to
the ceiling thus allowing plenty of air and ventilation. This is really
important for the artists living in the loft who need good light to
work.
Another benefit is that you can design your place according
to your own comfort, taste and specifications. It’s your own choice
whether to keep it carpeted or enjoy the original wooden floor. Walls
can be decorated in any way you like. This opens new roads to creativity
and you can enjoy the décor of your own choice. Similarly keeping the
different living spaces partitioned or not is your own preference. Many
people would like to keep their living room and study together and kids
room separate. Loft provides you liberty to choose your own style. Many
people have developed loft conversions in their houses to provide them
with the extra space for living. Traditionally such conversions were
used for storage but as the interiors have improved and each room houses
many walled cupboards lofts are now used for living. This type of
conversion helps to add space without adding too much to the cost and
saves you from the trouble of moving to a new place.
Lofts can
specially be useful if you are living in a big city because you can buy a
loft at an affordable price and enjoy living in a big city and continue
your job if you have one. For an average man this is a huge advantage.
All the facilities of a big city like transport, recreation, and
shopping malls are at your doorstep. Good jobs are also available in the
big city which helps you to add to your economic prosperity and thus
the quality of life improves.
However living in aloft is not
associated with benefits only. People living in the lofts have serious
privacy limitations since there are no rooms you can’t play music or TV
at your own time and you will have to keep in view the comfort of other
people. These apartments become very cold in the winters and hot in the
summer because there are large windows which allow in too much sunlight
and air. Also you may find noise problems because you will have too much
noise coming from the surrounding.
In short”there are a number
of problems and benefits concerned with the loft living that you must
keep them all in mind while deciding to start living in the loft. ”
