With a big yard sale season poised to nearly surpass last years record season due to high unemployment and changing lifestyles it will be crucial to know how to maximize your yard sale and garage sale profits this summer season.

So the first step is to decide who you want to include in your yard sale. It has been proven that the more families and neighbors involved the greater turnout. The reason for this is that many multi-family garage sales attract more people because they know more great items will be available and that more families means more people promoting the sale.

So once you have decided who to join up with for the sale the next issue is when to have the sale. Even in the summer Saturdays and Sundays reign as the best time to throw a sale because teachers and house wives have off but others still have to trek to the office by 9:00 in the morning.

Advertising your sale can be easy with the help of the neighbors but also look to google garage sales and chose from the list of yard sales websites that let you market the sale online with driving directions for free.

The next step is to set up shop and get ready to make some money anything that you have not used for ages and is in decent condition to sell should be put up for sale. Also anything that has been bought in the past 2 years but needs to be replaced will bring a decent value. Other great things to sell at a sale are jewelry, clothes, toys, and antiques.

Finally bring lots of change for the hagglers and have fun with it because thats what summer rummage is all about.
