2. Always book your flights for the weekdays and try to avoid Saturday and Sunday returns if your schedule permits. Airlines usually charge an extra amount of taxes on these days. Also most people need to be back for whatever reasons, so there are cheaper seat classes available (for those who don’t know, even coach seats are divided in classes to distinguish price levels and promotions).
3. Talk to consolidators and ask them for quotes, usually they get flights a bit cheaper. This doesn’t work for domestic flights; only call them to get cheap international flights.
