If you're ready for the vacation of a lifetime, then head to Oahu Island in Hawaii. This land of pristine beaches, temperate turquoise waters and lush green mountains offers a delightful escape at any time.

Do you relish the idea of outdoor enjoyment along with a thriving city life and history as well?   Oahu vacation rentals can provide the perfect lodging. While here, you might visit Pearl Harbor, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Hawaii. Honolulu is not only the state capital; it's the entertainment capital of the region. You may decide to stay in Oahu lodging with easy access to the delights of the city, including multiple art galleries displaying the work of local artists. At the end of your full day, you may want to enjoy some more local flavor. Two excellent shows highlight the music and dance of the Hawaii: "The Magic of Polynesia" and the renowned "Don Ho Show." A visit to Oahu's North Shore will let you delight in all the beauty and outdoor activity that draw visitors to Hawaii, yet without fighting crushing crowds. The North Shore of Oahu lies on a promontory that juts out into the warm Pacific waters, and you may want to spend most of your time there. On the western shore, you'll find waves to challenge surfers and body-boarders, while the waters within Turtle Bay and on the eastern shore will be more attractive to swimmers and snorkelers. The deserted white sandy beaches here offer wonderful lounging opportunities, and the waves are gentle enough for swimming, because of the protection of an offshore reef.

Finally, on the island's secluded western shore you'll want to spend some time hiking through lush, unspoiled vegetation, appreciating the brilliant tropical flowers and sparkling mountain streams. Along the shore, the waters here consistently provide waves for the adventurous. In fact, surfing championships are held here in the winter. Numerous other water sports area available as well. Kayaking and kite-surfing are popular choices for all levels from novice to expert. The abundance of native aquatic life and quiet waters in Turtle Cove attract swimmers and snorkelers. Adding to the attraction are the dolphins and turtles all about. The pristine beaches here are irresistible. Some of them are popular surf hangouts, but others are so tucked away as to feel almost private. Make sure you stay out until sunset, so you can revel in the glorious display of colors out over the ocean.
