For three and a half months we have had an enforced stop, but now Win a Resort is back bigger and brighter than before.
Having designed Win a Resort, with its once in a lifetime Blue Moon Opportunity, we were fully aware that we were on our own. There was no one out there doing what we were doing. No one was offering a total resort as an Internet raffle, let alone a boutique luxury resort, Seachange Lodge, on a tropical island in Vanuatu, in the South Pacific. A resort that could be run as an ongoing business, or used as a private holiday home, plus 6 luxury holiday apartments for friends and family. We may have had no competition, but we had buyer opposition. If the prize is too good to be true then it probably is. Surely Win a Resort was just another Internet scam.
Full of enthusiasm and loads of passion, we built the version number one. While it was little more than a simple blog format, it seemed to work quite well. Over three months, from date of launch, we managed to get it to rise to page ranking No. 3 on Google, without buying our way there. We were so proud of what we had achieved, we thought it was time to improve the site and rebuild a new stand-alone site in Dreamweaver. This was quite a challenge, as we chose not to use a template.
The first bad news came that as we began to rebuild the site and our page ranking fell away with a resounding thump. There one day, gone the next. This always happens we discovered, but only after the fact.
The Merchant Bank which processes credit cards online, was caught up in the USA financial fallout and seemed to have gone belly up. Three and a half long agonizing months passed without any kindly words of encouragement to lead us on. Starts up dates were given a couple of times, but they didn't materialize. We were never given any encouraging promises that the bank would come back online.
Because we are selling Blue Moon Opportunity raffle tickets on the Internet we are classed as being High Risk. There aren't too many merchant banks which will process credit cards online, for what they incorrectly class as a lottery. Some of our friends tried to help by encouraging us to go to Pay Pal or Click Bank etc, etc. Are you aware that Pay Pal has a list of around fifty different types of businesses they won't process, including rental cars, airline tickets and accommodation?
By the time our hair was a lot greyer (according to our hairdresser), our nails had been bitten down to the quick and everyone was saying we were down and out for the count, we had a brand spanking new website up and running, with photos you just have to do and check out. We also have our page ranking of 3 back and still climbing. Our name is splattering all over the Internet and we have top positions for the majority of our keywords.
The great news is the fallout from America seems to be over. The merchant bank is back online and guess what, they too have a brand spanking new website as well. The name is Intabill, owned by one a 24 year old entrepreneur, who made it onto the 'Rich List' in Queensland, Australia. He's been working the Internet since he was 13 years old.
