The importance, ease and inexpense of an outdoor security system for your farm and ranch.

From well meaning but misguided animal rights activists to busybodies and livestock thieves, ranchers and farmers today face many challenges. From ordinary problems like downed fences and sick cattle to out of the ordinary problems, those farmers and ranchers have a lot to worry about.
Fortunately, those in the livestock business also have some modern tools at their disposal. One of the most powerful tools in that livestock protection arsenal is the AgCAm security cameras . Only a few years ago it would have been impractical and prohibitively expensive for an ordinary working farmer or rancher to deploy a network of security cameras. These days, however, the comprehensive network of security cameras is more accessible than ever before.
With prices plummeting and technology getting better all the time, it has never been easier for even most technologically adverse farmer or rancher to keep an electronic eye on his or her livestock – and his or her livelihood. After all, when you work as a farmer or a rancher, the animals you raise are your business, and you need to take all the steps you can to protect that investment.
The widespread of IP network cameras means you can set them up all around your property and monitor everything that is going on at the ranch or on the farm right from your own computer. All you need is an Internet connection, whether that access is provided by a Wi-Fi setup at the local coffee shop or the satellite or cable provider servicing your ranch.
It is easy enough to mount those wireless security camera systems and keep an eye on your livestock. You can put those cameras on fence posts, or the trees surrounding your pasture. Once those cameras are in place, all you need to do is note the IP address of each camera, log on to your computer and keep an eye on your cows, pigs, goats and other livestock.
With the technology to protect your livestock and your profession so readily available and inexpensive, there is simply no reason to leave your ranch or farm unprotected for even a single day more. The cost to install a full outdoor monitoring camera can be a few thousand dollars – much more than the cost of recovering from even a single incident of vandalism or other damages.
