When you wish to take your love story to the next level, the one thing that counts more is the kind of engagement rings that you choose from. It is well known to all as to how women just love diamonds and certainly would love to own one of it any day. To start off with, first you need a nice ring to surprise one’s would be fiancée, the second step is to look at what kind of rings does she like and what would you wish to consider. You have to place yourself in her shoes, so that it is easy for you to make the final call.

Most of the engagements rings are of diamonds, as this form of jewelery is loved by all. However, apart from that, there are many other options as well. Leaving diamonds aside, one can go with sapphires, rubies, emeralds etc. The precious gemstones are doing quite some rounds these days. To cut loose on the traditional standard diamond rings, many like to shift to the other stones, which if picked upon with precision, one could get the purest form which is close to being as precious as a diamond. However, investing in other stones does require some great amount of thought processing. The reason as such is because all the stones are not as strong as a diamond. The amount of strength and resistance a diamond showcases is nowhere close to what comes from other precious stones. The other stones can be chipped away very easily, easy damage prone, and also scratches can easily be detected, and hence, diamond is the call to make.

When you head to a jewelery store to pick one amongst the many engagement rings, make sure to look into the following criteria, if the stone is a diamond. When it comes to diamonds, make sure you know enough about the carat of the diamond that you are buying. You need to understand what a carat means and the importance of it, as the size of the diamond is related to the carat. If you plan to go with one solid stone, then the carat is much higher. However, if there are few small stones, then the carat indefinitely varies.

The other criterion that needs to be looked into is for the clarity. By clarity, it does not mean that the diamond has to be transparent and colorless. It also means that the stone shouldn’t have any scratches or blemishes. For the amount that you are spending, indeed you need to get a flawless piece of stone. The disadvantage here is that the blemishes are not quite evident to be viewed by naked eye; therefore shopping from a reputed store would lessen the risk of being cheated.

The third aspect that needs attention is the color part of the stone. Not all diamonds are colorless. Definitely the best and refined ones are, but the grades lower than that can have a tinge of yellowness to them. Apart from that, there are color based diamonds, which are rare to find. A few stores enhance the color and sell, this however is not the actual version of the diamond and hence needs to be reported to the customer before selling it to them.

Last of the 4c’s criteria is of the cut of the stone. The proper cut shouldn’t allow the light to escape. The shape shouldn’t be completely flat and most importantly, the finish and polishing should be in accordance as well.
