Do not be afraid. I will not tell you are a cheapskate to anyone. Everybody is a cheapskate one way or another, especially when investments in fundraising are involved. Of course you need to be thrifty because your goal is to get money and not spend it of course. That is why in this guide, I am going to give you some tips on how to be economical with your fundraising calendars.
Do not worry, you will not need fancy calendar layouts or even cost efficient algorithms. You just need to know the right options to get those costs down in printing fundraising calendars. Let me start you off with simple but very effective tips.
a. Size it down – One of the best ways to be a cheapskate in calendar printing is to just size the whole thing down. Bigger color calendars cost more because you have to pay for the larger, wider materials. You should just try cutting costs by sizing your own custom calendars down to a more manageable level. From large wall calendars, you can settle for a half dimension of that or even to small desk calendars instead. You should cut a lot of the printing costs here, helping you with your “becoming a cheapskate” goals.
b. Covering up – No conspiracy or cover up here. In calendar printing though, you can use your covers effectively to make your calendars look great while the inside can have cheaper materials to save you money. I have seen this practiced many times and it has always worked. You can basically just reduce the cost of your calendar printing by having the inside pages printed in cheaper paper materials while the cover itself has a thicker side that gleams. By “covering up” those common materials with the more impressive cover, you can still look attractive and appealing to those customers at the outside, while saving money on cheap materials in the inside.
c. Affordable choices – Being a cheapskate in calendar printing also means know all the affordable choices. There are two aspects to this, the materials and the printer itself.
Materials – Know that the standard options you see from calendar printing companies are not necessarily the most affordable or cheapest ones. There are different paper materials, inks, coatings that can add to the overall cost of custom calendar printing. Try to always ask about these material options and of course try to specify that you want the cheapest choices for materials. You’ll be amazed as to how much more you can a save by just adjusting these different calendar options.
Printer – You should of course know that not all calendar printers are the same. Some can be really expensive and some can be really cheap with almost the same quality as the expensive one. So be sure you do your homework first and look for different calendar printers. Compare their prices and choose the most affordable one with a decent quality.
d. Wholesale deals – Lastly, to be a cheapskate in calendar printing for fundraising, you will want to capture those wholesale deals. Wholesale calendar printing can give you as much as a 10-20% discount with your printing, especially if you have a really big order. So make sure you ask around if you can get a discount with your large calendar order. The savings will be well worth it with these wholesale calendar printing rates.
Great! Now you can become a true cheapskate with your calendar printing! Apply these lessons well in your own fundraising calendars.
