Have you been a recipient of a good deed lately? Every day, you may be in the midst of good Samaritans who need to be thanked for their good deeds. In your neighborhood, you may find yourself being assisted by your neighbors in civic activities or just about any event you hold at home. In the office, you may be promoted by your boss or has been offered program funding by agencies. Your friends and family members may have thrown you a party which you are thankful. There are just blessings in your life that would not be made possible without the help of people you know.
What better way to thank them though than sending thank you cards. Thank you cards are simple ways of showing your appreciation. You do not have a hard time finding thank you cards to send to your loved ones. You can find these thank you cards at your favorite supply stores or book shops. You can also order these thank you cards online. For a minimal fee, you can get thank you cards that are unique and appealing. If you have time though, you can create your own thank you cards from scratch. At home, you can make use of available materials. Gather your paper, ink, printer, and computer.
If you are not familiar with making thank you cards, read on to know what the steps are.
- Choose quality paper stock. You may want to use paper stock that has a heavier weight to somehow be assured of its longevity.
- For the ink, you can settle with the black ink on your printer. If you plan to make use of images though, go for full color printing.
- Set the measurements for your thank you cards. You may want to go for thank you cards that have unique shapes and sizes.
- Choose the design software you are going to use. You can make use of Adobe In-design, Photoshop, or Corel Draw.
- Prepare the design elements you are going to use. Download images, brushes, patterns, font styles, and software plug ins.
- Start working on the design template. You can start by conducting a brain storming session with your friends for comments.
- Once you have made your design template, work on your message. The message is as important as the content.
- Print a sample of your thank you cards for editing and proofreading. Check if there are any errors that you need to edit.
- You can also work on making your own mailing envelopes. Know the flaps and the folds as well as the tricks and techniques.
Aside from making a thank you card on your own, you can also get a design template from the internet. Check for design templates that are available for download. There are also design templates that are being offered for a fee. You can just download any of these and save it on your own personal computer. Open the file using the appropriate design software or computer application. Make the necessary changes, such as replacing the text, images, and other design elements. You may also want to replace borders or framing. Aside from working on the content, also take time composing the message. Make your message heartfelt. Let your receivers know that their actions are appreciated.
